MET Medical Ltd, a St Albans based private ambulance service, has purchased six additional emergency response vehicles and hired 20 new staff following £300,000 funding from Santander Business Banking. MET Medical was established in 2014 by Dave Hawkins as a private ambulance service to carry out urgent, routine and emergency ambulance transfers from hospitals, care homes and private residences.

Disability charity, Kangaroos Mid Sussex, has received £5,000 to fund a new support group with the aim of helping members move from the charity’s teenage club to programmes focused on adults. Frome-based cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) has secured a £5,000 grant to fund its online counselling service. The service supports adults in Somerset, Bath and Wiltshire who are affected or bereaved by cancer or other life-threatening conditions.
